Dr. Walter E. Meshaka, Jr., is Senior Curator of Zoology and Botany of the State Museum of Pennsylvania. As curator of the Commonwealth's holdings of animals and plants, he oversees the acquisition, curation, and maintenance of collections, as well as conducts museum-based research and various outreach endeavors. Dr. Meshaka is the author of Exotic Herpetofauna of Florida and is one of the foremost experts on the field characters of Floridian gecko species. Dr. Robert Murphy (Dr. Bob) is Senior Curator of Herpetology for the Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Biology at the Royal Ontario Museum and Professor of Zoology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Bob is currently working on the phylogenies of Coleonyx and Phyllodactylus geckos (both U.S. and Mexico natives). Dr. Bob is one of the foremost experts on the field characters of gecko species native to the Southwest United States and Mexico.
